About Us

We're Peter and Dave Robson, proud owners of Douglas Lake Custom Homes.

Together we bring more than 60 years experience in quality home construction to our family-run business. We grew up in the Border Lands of England and Scotland where we mastered our trade as First Class carpenters. On moving to Canada in the 1970s we continued our trade and spent our first ten years learning every aspect of the Canadian construction industry. Eventually we chose to specialize in high-end finishing work and from there our work naturally progressed into home building.

Cathy Robson is our Design and Project Coordinator and has an extensive background as a Visual Merchandiser with large retailers. She is available to assist you at every level, from sourcing suppliers and setting up appointments, to viewing products and creating storyboards to help you visualize the end result.

We have intentionally kept Douglas Lake Custom Homes a small company in order to maintain the highest level of customer service we can provide, typically building just four or five custom homes a year. our business comes from referrals of other Douglas Lake Custom Homes homeowners, all of whom we have remained friends with over the years.

Like our customers, we value the beauty and exceptional lifestyle that comes with living in the Okanagan, including camping, golfing, hiking and mountain sledding. We treasure time with our families and are active in our community. Cathy is very involved in our grandchildren’s elementary school and we support the local BMX team that our grandson races with.
